The model 1889 with some alternatives was still of topicality at the time of the 1st war. The FN being occupied by the enemy at that time, it is probable that the Belgian government will have caused production of these Mauser rifles by British industry.

These rifles were also manufactured in the USA at HOPKINS & ALLEN Arms C° NORWICH CONNECTICUT.

In PARIS and BIRMINGHAM the Belgian government installed manufactures with the assistance of the workmen of the M.A.E and the F.N to manufacture rifles 1889.

I thus think that it is about a historical part even if it does not seem in very good state!
