Wilket-Mariette Albert

It is about a collapsible rifle to one shot of the type Flobert. The opening (crack) is practiced using the key known as “snake” placed on the right of the breech.

The steel barrel is smooth, of hexagonal form to the breech then round to the mouth.

The stick out of wooden of walnut seems it is worked with English with squared trigger guard.

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the profhouse of LIEGE, namely:

ELG* in a vertical oval: final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1893.

X* and AE*: countermarks of the controllers, of use of 1877 to 1968.

Peron: inspection, of use of 1853 to our days.

EL in English letters: provisional inspection, of use of 1852 to our days.

12N C in a rhombus: gauges and 10.4: gauge in mm.

The weapon also carries the following marks:

Breveté (Patent) A.W.: following the patent attached, I think that it is about a rifle Wilket-Mariette A. I issue some reserves however because I did not handle the weapon.

5313: serial number.

Wilket-Mariette Albert was an arms manufacturer with Cheratte (Liège). It deposited of 1879 to 1901 nothing less than 10 patents, of which the patent attached.
