Delrée A.

Here is a 24 caliber Anson juxtaposed rifle (probably for a lady or a young hunter), half-pistol handle, length to push, marked A. DELREE Le Roeulx (village near Mons, possessing among others a beautiful castle...). The presence of a rise in the band between the two guns is not common on a smooth-gun.

ELG on star in crowned oval: acceptance between 1893 and 1968

Lion on PV: smokeless powder test from 1898 to 1968

Perron: inspection from 1853 to the present day

228 : definitely the number of the weapon since it appears in several places.

Greek letter delta: annual letter of 1951

24-70 in omega coated: nominal size and sleeve length since 1924

1kg168 : barrel weight since 1924

EL: provisional event since 1852

Choke 14.8 : choke gun, between 1924 and 1968.

G under asterisk: countermark of the controller from 1877 to 1968.

As appears from the attached document, Armand DELREE took over the Maison Formule, founded in 1863, rue de la Renardise in Roeulx. He also sold cartridges under his name. Incidentally: his wife ran a café " Aux armas liégeoises"...
