Ancion Dieudonné

Contract of 1861 between Charles and Jules Collart, masters of forges in Luxembourg-Dommeldange and D. D. Ancion, manufacturer of weapons in Liege.

The first undertakes to sell to the second a lot of wood coming from its wood located in Arlon and then follow the conditions of sale in 14 Articles.

The whole written by hand, made in duplicate in Liege and signed DD Ancion - Collart CH and J and A Metz & Cie.

ANCION & C°

It’s probably ANCION & C° coming from ANCION Jules - Liege (1837/188O) son of ANCION Dieudonné and brother of ANCION Alfred.

He founds, in 1849, the firm ANCION & Co and merges with J. ANCION & Co in 1866.

It also belonged to the “Société des Anglais” (The English Company) active from 1854 to 1863, founded by Jules ANCION, RENKIN Frères, FRANCOTTE Auguste and PIRLOT Frères to deliver 150.000 ENFIELD model 1853 rifles  to the English government.

It is probably at this time that Jules ANCION met ADAMS R. or his representatives in England to negotiate the license of manufacture of their revolver very appreciated at the time.
