Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Nagant 1893

This Norwegian Nagant M.1893, according to the serial number, comes from a June 1899 delivery. The total number of M.1893s supplied by Nagant is approximately 12,850.

It was received by Nandrup. A distinctive feature of some of the later deliveries is that the manufacturer's and acceptance marks are applied vertically.

The "lion with axe, walking to the left" proof mark is a Norwegian mark known from pinfire revolvers, but one I have never seen on an M.1893. Yet another rarity.
