Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Léonard Poilvache

Léonard POILVACHE, industrial Mativa quay, 27 in Liege which of 1864 to 1889 deposited 14 patents including one for an army rifle to needle.

The invention of Léonard POILVACHE for an army rifle to needle goes back to 1866 and there were thereafter several patents of improvement.

It is thus a contemporary of Chassepot. I do not have unfortunately (still) the copy of these patents.
