René Warnant

Rifle of shooting of garden or living room of the type FLOBERT in 6 mm Flobert.

This weapon was invented by Julien WARNANT of Cheratte and was patented on March 23 1885 under the n° 68808. It then was the subject of a patent of improvement on the level of the system of door the 25 juin1885 under the n° 069430 (see sketch in appendix.

The weapon carries the punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG on star in a crowned oval: acceptance post 1893.

F under star: countermark of the controller post 1877.

Peron: inspection post 1853.

Other markings

FL n°3: indicate that it is about a gauge FLOBERT but I do not know to what N° 3 refers.

8: should be a job number.

RW in an oval: mark of the manufacturer Rene WARNANT (BE 1912/1956)

ED PRIEM Brugge: name of the Belgian retailer having resold the weapon.
