Jacques Pirotte &Fils

It is about a revolver hammerless of type VELO-DOG. The cylinder with 5 blows is of calibre 6 mm velo-dog.

The weapon carries the punches of the proofhouse of LIEGE, namely:

ELG* in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.

PV surmounted a stylized lion: test with the powder without smoke, of use of 1898 to 1968.

R crowned: rifled bore, of use of 1894 to 1968.

The weapon also carries the following marks:

L crowned: mark of founder of cylinders.

Crowned JP: it acts with my opinion of the mark of manufacturer PIROTTE Jacques & Fils, street SAINT LAURENT, 45 in LIEGE. It was registered with the proofhouse of 1904 to 1962 under various denominations. It deposited 4 patents whose n° 193942 (safety) could correspond well to the present weapon.
