Pirlot Frères

Model 9 by Chamelot & Delvigne says "Gaucher" (because the door is on the left side of the gun). Caliber 12mm pinfire.

Model 9 is characterized by the shield that protects the ammunition pins.

We know that Chamelot & Delvigne had many of its weapons manufactured in Liège, here is a superb example with this model 9 made by Pirlot Frères.

J. Chamelot, a craftsman, resided in Liège and Henry Gustave Delvigne, an infantry officer, resided in Paris.

The weapon

Revolver CHAMELOT & DELVIGNE which is the subject of the patent n° 032848 of June 24, 1873 (See technical drawing in appendix). It is with central percussion and box frame.

The cylinder in calibre 7,5m is grooved and with six rooms.

The loading is practiced by the right side door which draws behind to open it.

The barrel is octagonal with rectangular front sight.

The trigger without trigger guard is folded up under the carcass.

The handle consists of two plates out of wooden (walnut?) squared.

They are maintained by a transverse screw and two rivet washers with ears.

Punches

The weapon carries two lawful punches of the profhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG on star in a vertical oval: final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1893.

M crowned: countermark of the controller, of use of 1853 to 1877.
