The weapon

Revolver with box frame and central percussion whose loading of the cylinder is done by the right side door.

The oversize cylinder comprise 5 rooms for cartridges of large gauge.

The gun very short (2 inches?) is with front sight in half-moon.

The metal rod swivels on an axis.

The concave trigger is smooth without trigger guard; its end is swell and pierced. It is designed to be folded up under the carcass to facilitate the setting out of pocket.

The hammer is of rebounding type.

The stick consists of two plates finely squared, maintained by an E live and two rivet washers.

A safety of the Mauser type is fixed at the left side.

Punches

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG on star in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.

Spangled AH: countermark of the controller post 1877.

Marks

HDH (on an amount of stick) mark of the factory of weapons HENRION DASSY & HEUSCHEN street Cherished 22 in LIEGE. Registered with the proffhouse of 1910 to 1921. (See card on the site).

JFM BT: (read so well??) it is about the mark of the inventor of this weapon but I could not find the name of it. MARTIN Jean-François of DALHEM perhaps??

12M in a rhombus: ignored significance

1926: serial number?

40 - G - F: markings of workshops.

GG

This weapon is a “Scheintodt”.

One made some much in Germany. Unrifled bore and ammunition with shot, for those which speak German, “Scheintodt” means “distorts dead”. It is a weapon of personal defence.
