Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Lefaucheux Gaucher

Here’s a revolver well marked Chamelot -Delvigne, mod 1862 called “left-handed” because the loading door and the ejection rod are to the left of the gun, while the vast majority of revolvers have their door and rod to the right.

However, the door and the stick on the left are much more logical (for a right-handed man of course...).

Hammer without a crest, foldable trigger, plates of grips pads.

The markings

EL crowned: brand of the factory of Eugène Lefaucheux in Liège

ELG on star: acceptance between 1846 and 1893

Crowned Y: countermark of a controller, between 1853 and 1877.
