Gulpen Hubert
It is about a revolver top break of the type S&W, central percussion.
The opening is practiced of assistance of the system of locking installed with summoning console. The weapon breaks then into two and the extractor out of ring of the cylinder ejects the six casings.
The cylinder with six rooms calibre 380 is grooved and carries a light engraving.
Does the stick consist of a metal skeleton and two plates out of wooden of drowning squared with transverse screw and two rivet washers.
This stick ends in a ring of cap on a screw-pivot.
It seems that this weapon Re-was coldly nickelled?
It carries the punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:
ELG on star in an oval: final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1893.
S spangled: countermark of the controller post 1877.
Other markings like G in a circle, GL, summoned GM of a crown and HF could not be identified. They can possibly come subcontractors.
The manufacturers or clients did not strike their mark the weapons for various reasons: ask of the customer wishing to assume the paternity of manufacture, patent always in progress etc….
Perhaps the mark G in a circle could be allotted to GULPEN Hubert, industrialist of German extraction, manufacturer of weapons in Liege quay of the slaughter-house, 27. It was registered with the bench of tests of 1910 to 1914. It used indeed G ringed as marks of factory.
