Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Francotte to percussion with dagger

Here is an unusual object: a hunting dagger combined with a two-gun percussion pistol, from the house of Auguste Francotte. Presumably to finish off a wounded animal, possibly at close range.

There is only the mark ELG on star in oval for acceptance by the proofhouse of Liège, the number 119 and the mention A. Francotte Liège.

About this house, see the new book “The Francotte Dynasty”.
