Here is a single shot pistol in . 22 Long caliber from the well-known Auguste Francotte house. The opening is done by pressing the button located on the left.

The markings

R crowned: barrel stripped between 1894 and 1968

AE under star: countermark of a controller between 1877 and 1968

Perron: inspection since 1853

FL 22 L: calibre, . 22 Long Flobert

ELG on star in crowned oval: accepted between 1893 and 1968

AF crowned: the house Auguste Francotte has filed several trademarks with its initials. The -This may have been on December 7, 1893.

The mention A. Francotte Patented in a circle on the right side is probably related to the fact that Auguste Francotte had a gunmaker’s patent, i. e. that the company had filed a large number of patents. In any case, and despite intensive research, we have not found any A. Francotte patent that could be linked to this gun.
