Some of the most beautiful work of this craftsman, and many others, are in this book “Liège Gunmakers through their Work. 1800 - 1950”.

Dresse Laloux

The weapon

It’s a revolver with central percussion and top break system.

The system with two pedals could correspond to the patent n° 064.421 of 1887 of Léonard WARNANT-FRANSQUET!

The collective extractor is of ring type.

The cylinder with 6 shots calibre .380 is grooved.

The barrel with eight sides is equipped with a front sight in half-moon.

The stick ends in a metal cap with ring of suspension and screw-pivot.

It is covered with two plates (out of wood of walnut?) squared.

Punches

They are the lawful punches of the proofhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG on star in a vertical oval: final acceptance, of use of 1846 to 1893.

N crowned: countermark of the controller, of use of 1852 to 1877.

The manufacturer

The mark DL with bee belongs to the company DRESSE-LALOUX, manufacturer of weapons, street On the Fountain, 47 in LIEGE. This mark was deposited the 28.01.81 but it is probably about a renewal. In fact, the company was registered with the proofhouse of 1867 to 1908, date on which is taken again by Laloux George.

Marks PD in a cartouche and OJ struck the amounts of stick are unknown for me. They are probably markings of subcontractors.
