Louis Schmeisser is the originator of this pistol.
The Waffenfabrik von Dreyse company was acquired by Rheinische Metallwaren & Maschinenfabrik Sommerda in 1901, although the Dreyse Model pistols were marketed under the Dreyse name.
This pistol has a very clever device for the time: when it’s ready to draw a pin leaves to the back from the breech, being used as indicator of loading.
