The calibre is 7,62 Nagant Russian, i.e. “3 lines” (3 lignes). However, I seek the significance of letters “AFS”, to see the detail.

No the doubt, it acts well of a revolver of Henri Pieper between 1886 and 1889 (1st or 2nd model without side lever of safety).
The rod of extraction does not seem origin.
