Auguste FRANCOTTE

It is a revolver with central percussion and closed frame of the bull-dog type!

The short cannon is 380 caliber, striped and has a half-moon handlebar. Below it is a rod that rotates on an axis to be introduced in turn into the barrel and its six chambers.

The left side of the weapon is fitted with a Mauser-type safety device.

The oval underguard protects a curved release.

The arming is done by a side door lowering thanks to the action of an internal spring.

The corbin beak is made up of two grated walnut inserts joined together by a transverse screw.

The weapon bears the regulatory stamps of the Liège test bench, namely:

- ELG* in a crowned oval: definitive acceptance after 1893.

- C* : countermark of the controller post 1877.

- R crowned : striped gun, in use from 1894 to 1968.
