Léopold ANCION-MARX

The weapon

It is about a revolver with central or annular percussion, with closed frame. The system of barrel rocking on the right (drop system) is actuated thanks to the ring fixed in front of the carcass, under the barrel. The metal rod rocks with the cylinder and is used to actuate a star extractor. The carcass is marbled and the barrel with sides carries a front sight in half-moon. The trigger without trigger guard folding under the carcasse. The stick is covered with two squared plates being pretense out of ebonite? They are assembled by a transverse screw and two brass rivet washers.

Punches

The weapon carries the lawful punches of the profhouse of Liege, namely:

ELG on star in a crowned oval: final acceptance post 1893.

R crowned: rifled bore, of use of 1894 to 1968.

AR coupled and spangled: countermark of the controller post 1877.

PV surmounted of a stylized lion: test with the powder without smoked, of use of 1898 to 1968.

Marks

CAL 5,5: gauge weapon.

L crowned: mark resisting the identification for a long time and which one does think of being a mark of foundry?

LAM in a triangle: mark factory Léopold ANCION-MARX street Grandgagnage in Liege and of which the history perhaps consulted on the site!
